MidCoast Assist COVID Safe Measures

MidCoast Assist has a number of measures in place to help reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 between staff, participants and clients.  These measures are outlined below.  Our COVID-19 safe protocols are constantly reviewed and change according to the situation as well as government directions and guidance. 

Here is a summary of the measures we currently have in place (as at 16 February 2023): 

  • All staff who deliver direct care services for MidCoast Assist are fully vaccinated, that means they had had a minimum of three doses of an approved vaccine. 
  • Use of appropriate PPE when interacting with clients and participants. PPE can include an approved face mask, gloves, gowns, eye shields etc nd is based on each situation.
  • Staff are provided with infection control training.
  • Use of hand sanitiser.
  • Use of Rapid Antigen Testing as required.
  • Use of COVID-19 Client and Staff Screening Forms.
  • Use of temperature checking where necessary and appropriate. 
  • Modifications to group activities where required.
  • Use of social distancing where required.
  • COVID-19 and its potential impacts on our clients, participants and staff are monitored on a regular basis by our Leadership Team and Clinical Supervisor and discussed at our Quality and Risk Committee Meetings.
